FAQs
Using a scrub on your face or body feels so refreshing... Here are our Soap Squad's tips on how often to use these products.
Sea Salt Scrub - Best on Body and Hands, our Sea Salt Scrub is infused with rich, hydrating Shea butter and beeswax. This is a very abrasive scrub and do not suggest using on your face. Use 2-3 times per week to keep skin cells renewed and promote soft skin. For even more hydration, leave on the skin for a minute or two before rinsing off.
Sugar Scrub - The Sugar Scrub (both Vitamin C and Cellulite Firming Coffee) can be used on both body and face. The Sugar crystals break down faster than the salt crystals and are not as abrasive. It can be used 2-3 times per week, or more often as your skin allows.
Salt & Sugar Scrub - This light and fluffy scrub combines the best of both worlds - sugar and sea salt into one irresistible exfoliate. Fine granules wash away dry, dull skin cells while antioxidant-rich coconut and sunflower oils replenish and rehydrate. It is designed to be used on the body, but can also be used on the face if tolerable. It can be used 2-3 times per week, or more often as your skin allows.
Face Scrub - The Coffee and Peppermint face scrub are a tried and true staple in many a facial routine. Gently massage, exfoliate, and polish your skin and put your best face forward with rich coconut oil and cocoa butter. Use daily; reduce frequency if irritation occurs.
Microdermabrasion Scrub - The fine silica particles in this scrub makes it gentle enough to use daily on your face, but please reduce frequency if irritation occurs since this is a very effective exfoliator. It is designed to be used on the face, but can also be used to spot treat smaller sections of the body, such as the back of hands or neck. There is no additional fragrance added, but the ingredients have a soft, botanical smell.
Bamboo Charcoal Mask - This is a wonder mask that supports the improvement of skin by detoxifying the pores. Our formula will support the reduction of blemishes as well as aging issues on the skin including sun spots, hyper-pigmentation, dullness and dry areas. You can use this on your face, neck, décolleté, or even your under arms when detoxing them to switch to a natural deodorant. Use daily; reduce frequency if irritation occurs.
Lip Scrub - Treat your lips to kissable softness by exfoliating with our nourishing lip scrub. Our sugar-based formula works to combat cracking and dryness by removing dry, chapped skin and replenishes moisture with vitamin E and rich antioxidants. Use 3-4 times a week for best results.
If you are looking to also firm and tighten the skin, then we suggest the Revitalizing Eye Serum.
If there is discoloration and/or sun damage, then we suggest the Vitamin C Eye Serum.
We also suggest adding Facial Roller treatments to your routine to help with under eye circles.
Laugh lines… they’re not so funny are they? Before you get radical and go under the knife or use burning chemical peels to try to get rid of your laugh lines, crow’s feet, or tech neck, try these simple wrinkle prevention pointers. But first, let’s discuss the root causes of wrinkles.
Natural Progression:
As we age, collagen production slows, and skin naturally becomes more dry. The loss of elasticity and moisture can increase the appearance of wrinkles.
Sun Exposure:
That golden teenage tan may have been the rage back then, but today it’s not so cool. Ultraviolet radiation from sunlight damages the elastic fibers that keep our skin firm therefore causing wrinkles to form.
Smoking & Pollutants:
Smoking increases the production of an enzyme that breaks down collagen, causing the skin to look older and wrinkled. Even if you have never smoked a day in your life, air pollutants from smog and smoke can encourage the production of free radicals in your skin and cause premature skin aging.
Genes:
Take a look back at those family photos. Studies have shown that 60% of the skin aging can be attributed to genetic factors that can impact the amount of collagen and elastin that we naturally produce.
Wrinkle Reduction
While you can’t turn back the hands of time or change your genetics, there are a number of wrinkle fighting tips that you can incorporate into your daily routine.
1. Moisturize Daily
Using a lightweight face cream or hydra gel in the morning and a heavier moisturizer like a face oil at night.
2. Hyaluronic Acid and Vitamin C
Products containing L-ascorbic acid (aka Vitamin C) and/or hyaluronic acid can help reduce age spots and rehydrate fine lines.
3. Drink Water
Staying hydrated can help improve your skin from the inside out in addition to other benefits, including the removal of toxins, regulating body temperature and aiding in digestion.
4. Your Diet
Eating more fruits and vegetables that are rich in antioxidants can help improve not only your skin but also your overall health. Foods that are particularly good for your skin health include leafy greens, carrots, avocados, and salmon.
5. Don’t Overwash
Wash your skin daily with a gentle cleanser. Using harsh astringents can dry our your skin and lead to further wrinkles.
6. Sleep On Your Back
Side sleeping can cause premature wrinkles so flip over and try using a silk pillowcase.
7. Sunglasses
In addition to eye protection, wearing sunglasses can help prevent squinting that leads to fine lines.
From perfect, baby soft, smooth skin to unavoidable wrinkles, the skin on our face and body goes through thousands of changes in our lifetime. Genetics play a key role in how your skin ages, but it isn’t the only factor. Life choices and good skin care routines can improve the look and feel of your skin at any age.
Here Are a Few Tips to Follow:
Teenage Skin Care
Despite the constant bombardment of product pitches on TikTok, teenagers don’t need an arsenal of face care products. Teens need to wash with a gentle cleanser morning and night and use a non-comedogenic moisturizer. Additionally, they need to be vigilant about applying a high quality sunscreen. To prevent pimples and blackheads, our pH-balanced Fragrance Free Sea Salt Soap is a great choice for clearer skin.
20s Skin Care
The same steps from the teenage years are encouraged into the twenties with continued vigilance on routine sunscreen usage, morning and night-time cleansing, the addition of a gentle exfoliator and daily use of a simple moisturizer like our Fragrance Free Face Cream.
30s Skin Care
Sadly, these are the years when the visible aging process begins for most people. This change is due to a slight reduction in collagen and elastin. In your thirties, you should introduce anti-aging products with antioxidants and peptides such as our 24/7 Hydra Gel or our Revitalizing Eye Serum.
40s Skin Care
Often times, you may be pulled in many directions by career and family in your forties, so your skin care routine falls to the bottom of the list. You may start to see age spots, loss of collagen, and dark under eye circles. We recommend our Vitamin C Face Care Collection to help even skin tone, brighten the complexion, increase collagen production and reduce fine lines. Vitamin C, also known as L-ascorbic acid, is one of the most effective ways to boost skin renewal. Our Vitamin C Eye Serum and Facial Serum also contain Hyaluronic Acid, a highly effective moisturizer.
50s & 60s Skin Care
This is the age when you really regret your early years spent in the sun. Those golden tans of yesteryear have come back to haunt us in the form of wrinkles and sun spots. The good news is that you can fight back by hydrating your skin and encouraging cell regeneration. Try our Acai Deep Wrinkle Cream to help improve texture and tone.
70s, 80s & Beyond Skin Care
It’s during these decades when your skin can feel dry, paper-like and it becomes irritated more easily. You may want to avoid scented face care products and focus on fragrance free options to deter irritation. Moisturize throughout the day with a gentle moisturizer and continue to be vigilant about reducing time spent in the sun. Also, avoid taking hot showers or baths as they can really dry out the skin.
Aging skin is inevitable, but with a few simple adjustments to your daily routine, you can fend off the telltale signs of aging for a more youthful look.
