I came across an article recently about  perfluorooctanoic acid (PFOA, also known as C8). I've often wondered about our exposure to teflon in our cookware. One Christmas I received a beautiful set of high end pots and pans, all were coated with a white teflon. Several months after use I noticed the teflon white coating was chipping and coming off in almost every pot. Nowhere for this to go but in my food. Needless to say, ingesting teflon is not in my diet, now or ever. I can't help but wonder at the long term effects on humans with exposure to teflon. These are things we simply don't think abou tin our daily lives, we take for granted or just ignore a safety concern assuming all proper testing has been done on such products. Needless to say, I have removed all teflon coated materials from my home and replaced them.
